Attention: Cecil Transit continues to operate a limited service in order to provide vital transportation services for essential needs. In order to control the number of individuals on each bus and ensure that passengers are utilizing service for essential needs, Glasgow Connection will transition from a true fixed route service to a demand response type of service beginning on Wednesday, March 25th. The service will operate the same hours, from 5:40 a.m. until 6:20 p.m. Monday through Friday. (Effective immediately, Saturday service has been suspended until further notice.) Passengers should request a trip no less than an hour ahead of the pickup time. The demand response service will provide stop by stop service along the regular Glasgow Route and fixed route fares will be in effect. Drivers shall continue to utilize fare boxes and ensure correct fares are being paid by passengers. A standard “Glasgow Passenger” will be created for dispatching and reporting purposes. The morning dispatcher will now begin his/her shift at 5:30 a.m. Deviation requests will still be considered and the standard $4 fee will continue. All passengers requesting trips should be asked why they are utilizing Cecil Transit. Only essential transportation will be permitted and this includes: work, medical appointments, hospitals, pharmacies, grocery stores, banks, and food distribution centers. If you are not sure if a request is classified as essential, please err on the side of caution and ask as soon as possible!
